The ALPHA Course is a 15-session program that runs over ten weeks to provide a practical introduction to the Christian faith. Everyone is welcome to attend an ALPHA course, and people attend for a wide variety of reasons. Some want to investigate whether God exists and if there is any point to life; others are concerned about what happens after death. Still others may have attended church "on and off" all of their lives, but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith. The mission of ALPHA is to offer the opportunity for people who are seeking answers, or who are cynical or skeptical, to be exposed to what we believe to be the truth about God and Jesus. ALPHA provides a fantastic opportunity to invite friends and family to a safe, non-confrontational environment, where their questions will be respectfully answered and their opinions heard. An optional "ALPHA Weekend" (1-1/2 day) retreat is offered as an opportunity to explore several sessions in a more in-depth, yet casual atmosphere of fellowship, fun, and nature.

It is our goal to raise awareness and stimulate interest in the ALPHA course, not only at W.C.H. but throughout the community as well.

Schedule

(Monday evenings in Fall and Spring)

Each weekly session consists of a 45-minute informational video, followed by a small-group time where discussion about the video is encouraged, but not forced (10 week sessions).
