Small Groups exist for the purpose of walking together on the journey of faith and developing Christ-likeness in connection with God, each other and our neighbors. In a large and growing church, the ability to connect with people in vital relationships becomes increasingly important. Small Groups are where the "rubber of faith" meets the "road of life".
Vision
Our desire is for every adult who regularly attends the Wesleyan Church of Hamburg to be involved in authentic community, either through a Small Group, Ministry Team, or Common Cause Group.
This is summarized well by the following quote of Jim Elliot:
"He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose."
Schedule
Small Groups are available for almost any day of the week, and at various times throughout the day. We encourage Small Groups to meet at least twice a month, with some meeting on a weekly basis.
Opportunities
We are always looking for Small Group Leaders and Small Group Coaches. Small Group Leaders are people who need to have a vital relationship with Jesus and who are willing to submit to the leadership of the Wesleyan Church of Hamburg. There is no need to be a teacher or theological expert. If you love Christ and love people you will make a good Small Group Leader. Small Group Coaches are selected from people who have a history of leadership in Small Groups and who reflect a heart's passion to see people connect in community with others.
