The H.I.S. (Hearts In Service) Ministry, the lay ministry of WCH, exists to engage people in discovering their unique purpose(s) for being created and designed by God, and to help empower them to fulfill that purpose in ministry and in life.
Vision
Our vision is to be the Body of Christ that God intended us to be. As people become engaged in their passion and ministry, the opportunities for ministry to one another and to the underchurched will continue to grow beyond our comprehension. To see individuals move from a mindset of "volunteering" to one of "ministry and service" will not only cause individuals to be more fulfilled, but will cause the spirit of the church to become contagious.
Schedule
Uniquely You classes are offered quarterly.
- Attend four 1-hour sessions (Wednesday evenings or Sunday mornings)
- Attend one 4-hour session (Saturday mornings or Sunday evenings)
- The Uniquely You teaching assessments can also be done one-on-one or through Small Groups and Ministry Teams.
Opportunities
We would love to have more people become a part of lay ministry by attending the classes or completing a Uniquely You assessment booklet. This serves the dual purpose of placing people in the areas of ministry where they are gifted and designed to serve, and determining which of the many H.I.S. Ministries Teams best suits each individual. Lay Ministry includes, but is not limited to, the following teams:
- Consultation
- Follow-Up
- C.A.R.E (Celebrating, Appreciating, Recognizing, Encouraging)
- Publicity/Promotions
- Special Events.
